3 Ideas on How To Show Your Employees You Are Thankful For Them
Thanksgiving is right around the corner. With that in mind, this is a good time to think about something you can do as a manager to thank your employees for all their hard work. Our HR consulting company is here to give you three ideas on how you can show your employees you are thankful for them in this week's blog. For more HR help, please visit our website at www.KmetConsulting.com or give us a call today at 877-783-5638. Maybe you are a medium-sized company that needs help with a specific project or you are a small business that needs ongoing support. Either way, Kmet Consulting develops customized HR solutions based on YOUR needs.
1. Feed them a Thanksgiving lunch.
With Thanksgiving being next week, your office is likely closed for the holiday, which is good! Let your employees go home and be with their families at this special time of year. The day before or whenever works best for their schedules, why not host a Thanksgiving lunch at the office? Give them a full lunch that has a Thanksgiving theme, but make sure they know this is for THEM. Explain to them in person how hard they work, how much of a difference they really make in the company, and how you couldn't be more thrilled with your team. This gratitude can go a long way when it comes to office morale, but also productivity. If your employees feel appreciated, they will likely work even harder for you.
2. Make how thankful you are for each employee PUBLIC on social media.
In today's world of technology, social media can have a tremendous effect on how people think, in general. Social media platforms, such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc. can be a very powerful tool for your business and we don't just mean in the obvious marketing sense, but as a communication tool with your employees. Make a few posts about your employees, recognize them, and say what they do so well on social media. Tag them in the post so that they're aware, but you would be so surprised at how effective this can be for raising an employee's confidence and just really letting them know you care and are so thankful for them. It also takes little effort on your part and doesn't have to cost you a dime.
3. Last but not least, give your employees the vacation time they deserve.
Having the day off for Thanksgiving is typically pretty standard, but why stop there? Just one day off for this major holiday may not be enough for employees who have worked really hard for you all year but have families far out of town. Only having one night to travel to their out of town families and back to work the next morning can be really difficult. If feasible, consider giving them all Friday off too. This can be a fantastic way of showing them you care about family time but also that you're thanking them for the above and beyond effort, they put forth for you every day.
Kmet Consulting hopes you enjoyed this blog and that you feel enlightened as a manager. Thank your employees and show your gratitude any chance you get.
