Make a list of goals for the day.
You'd be surprised how much easier your day can go just by making a plan. Create an organized list of goals you hope to accomplish for the day. List priority items first and go from there. Working from home is likely new for you and it may be hard to stick to your routine, creating a list like this can really help with that.
Avoid unnecessary distractions.
The distractions may seem endless when you work from home, but they don't have to be. For example, it can be really easy to be distracted by online ads in your social media feed, TV shows, knowing you have dirty dishes that need to be washed, dirty laundry that needs to be done, etc. The good news is you can develop a system where you can still get your personal tasks done, but outside of work time. For example, lay out hours throughout the day where you only focus on work, and then you can get your personal tasks done around those times.
Try to focus on one task at a time.
Multi-tasking may sound like a good idea, but that is not always the case. If you are trying to focus on too many things at once, sometimes it can be difficult to just get the simplest task done in a timely manner. Focusing on one task at a time may result in getting it done faster because you are actually putting your full effort into it.
Create agendas for your video chat meetings.
By this point, you've probably had a TON of video meetings with colleagues. Were they all productive or did some of them feel like a waste of time? Create agendas for these meetings so that you can stay on track and avoid wasting time.
