3 Tips & Tricks to NAIL Your Job Interview

1. Make sure your resume has that "special touch" that will allow for hiring managers to take a second look.
Hiring managers look through several resumes every day. Your resume should be tailored specifically to the job you are applying for. Make it stand out by using clearly defined headers that are big and bold and tell a story with your resume and by showing how you've grown over the years as a professional.

2. Make sure you have nothing inappropriate on your social media channels.
In today's age of technology, hiring managers may be searching through your social media channels to do a little research of their own before they call you in for an interview. Make sure there's nothing inappropriate that may cut you out of the running for your dream job.

3. Present yourself as a problem solver and explain how you can help issues the company you are applying to work for may be having.
Do your research on the company you are applying for ahead of time and know what challenges they may be facing currently. Be prepared to explain how you would try and solve these issues.

BONUS TIP:

Bring in a copy of the job description to the interview.
How often have you heard of someone printing out the job description and bringing to the interview?
  • Doing this not only can make you stand out but also prepare you in the case that the interviewer asks you if you feel you are qualified for the job.
  • You can simply go down the listed items on the job description and explain how you meet the qualifications listed.
  • This can also give you the opportunity to impress the interviewer even further because you can share examples of how you may exceed the expectations listed on the description.

Kmet Consulting is here for all of your job seeking needs! We know how intimidating it can be to walk in for an interview with people you have never met before and be expected to shine amongst all of the other candidates. We get it, but we can help you.
